Individual Grants
Each May, the Healthcare Quality Foundation (HQF) team awards up to 15 individual grants to deserving applicants. Use those funds to attend the NAHQ Annual Educational Conference and other NAHQ educational programs or to pay for Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification examination or review costs.

Career Development Grant
The HQF Career Development Grant is awarded to a NAHQ member who has been employed in the healthcare quality field for at least 5 years and holds CPHQ certification.
The grant is valued at $1,000, which can be used for travel and registration expenses for attendance at either a NAHQ CPHQ Review Course or the annual educational conference.
One grant will be awarded annually. Completed 2012 Career Development Grant applications are due at the NAHQ office by April 30, 2012.
Certification Grant
The HQF Certification Grant awards financial assistance to healthcare quality professionals who have not yet attained the CPHQ credential by sponsoring their examination fee.
These grants are awarded twice year in January and July. 14 grants will be awarded in 2012: 7 in February and 7 in August. Completed 2012 Certification Grant applications are due at the NAHQ office by January 31, 2012, or July 31, 2012.
Leadership Development Grant
The NAHQ Past Presidents' Council sponsors the Leadership Development Grant, intended to further professional leadership development opportunities. A $1,000 stipend is awarded in support of educational that enhances professional skills and nurtures leadership potential.
The recipient will also receive mentoring from a NAHQ Board of Directors member or past president and complete a strategic project under the direction of the board.
The applicant agrees to conduct a project under direction of the NAHQ Board of Directors. An example of a potential project might be completing an association award application on NAHQ's behalf or working with a board member to complete a project charter. A grantee could expect to spend about 15–25 hours annually, but this amount may be adjusted for changes in scope.
One grant will be awarded annually. Applications for 2012 grants are not yet available. Check back in March 2012 more information.
New Quality Professional Grant
The HQF New Quality Professional Grant is awarded to a NAHQ member who has been employed in the healthcare quality field less than 2 years and is not yet a CPHQ. The grant is valued at $1,000, which can be used for travel and registration expenses for attendance at either a NAHQ CPHQ Review Course or the annual educational conference.
One grant will be awarded annually. Completed 2012 New Quality Professional Grant applications are due at the NAHQ office by April 30, 2012.
