The National Quality Forum has launched a yearlong project to
improve patient safety and reduce waste by promoting practices and
measures that better coordinate a notoriously fragmented healthcare
system.

To improve patient safety and the training environment, fatigued
medical residents need protected sleep periods and increased

An all-out push to develop a large-scale patient-centered medical
home model is under way in Minnesota, where in May 2008 state
legislators passed a statewide “healthcare home” initiative. The
legislation calls for statewide healthcare home pilot projects to
