Bonding
with State Hospital Associations
Many state healthcare quality associations are looking to
strengthen their relationships with quality improvement
organizations (QIOs) and state hospital associations. Last June,
NAHQ E-News reported on the movement toward increased cooperation
among healthcare quality groups and QIOs. Now we look at three

QUOTE OF THE MONTH
Like the current financial crisis, “what if we have set ourselves
up for a coming healthcare disaster, if not a collapse? What if the
warning signs are out there and we’re just ignoring them? How would
we begin to … create a system that would be more sustainable over
time? What would we do if we had to face a bailout of the
healthcare sector?" --Susan Dentzer, editor-in-chief,
Health Affairs, and health policy analyst for The News
Hour with Jim Lehrer on Public Broadcasting Service, during her
keynote address at an October 2008 National Quality Forum
conference.
