NAHQ Fellowship
The NAHQ Fellowship Program was developed by the Healthcare Quality Foundation (HQF) both to recognize NAHQ members who have made outstanding contributions to the field of healthcare quality and to act as a blueprint for an ideal career path in the healthcare quality profession.
Consideration of an applicant for fellowship includes review of the applicant's credentials, employment background, and education. Then, the NAHQ Fellowship Review Board determines the granting of fellowship based on an evaluation of each applicant's contributions to the field of healthcare quality in the following categories:
- Leadership/Service
- Published Works
- Lectures/Presentations
- Mentorship
NAHQ strongly urges all members to set aside time to review the NAHQ Fellowship Application before deciding to apply; changes occur from year to year. Declare your intent to apply with a letter directed to the NAHQ FRB Chair, Sarah Tackett, by January 29, 2010. Submissions should be submitted electronically to Sherry Wallingford, NAHQ staff, at swallingford@nahq.org. The FRB will match you with a fellow to assist you with the application process. The fellow will share knowledge, information, and expertise with you to help further develop your skills and help you achieve fellowship within NAHQ. Your application will not be considered if you do not declare your intent to apply by the stated deadline.
Pursuit of Fellowship in NAHQ demonstrates dedication to excellence and commitment to leadership in the healthcare quality field. To those who do not feel ready to apply, NAHQ recommends that you use the fellowship application as a tool to guide your careers. Those members who are prepared to apply are encouraged to do so.
The fellowship application along with supplementary materials and a non-refundable fee of $200, must be received by the NAHQ Office by April 16, 2010, in order to be considered. All application and supplementary materials must be submitted electronically, on CD. Please note that current members of the NAHQ Board are excluded from application for Fellowship. Announcement of the NAHQ Fellows will be made during the NAHQ Annual Conference of that year.
